I'm using this for my HP Laserjet 1020 and it's the perfect size. Very sturdy. I recommend this stand for small printers.
I measured the laptop that I planned to place below the shelf and thought it would fit on top of the legs - just barely and not safely. I ended up putting the laptop elsewhere and just putting the monitor on the shelf. It's nicely made and sturdy.
It's just a bit wobbly. I bought the larger version quite a while ago and have been very happy with it, so ordered this smaller version based on that experience. But unfortunately, I'm not nearly as happy with this smaller one. Stuffed some folded paper underneath cause I just don't have the time or want to hassle with a return right now. If it still bugs me though within a couple weeks I might change my mind and send it back.
My computer gets plenty of circulation. It's very stable, doesn't move or wiggle around, even if I bump my desk (which I do often).
I works great for this. I bought this stand for my monitor, with the intention of putting my laptop beneath.
(I think it just depends upon what you're expecting). My Macbook is a 13 in (space beneath is ~14'' (btwn the legs) by 10''--in case you're wondering; but your laptop could always stick out a little in front or behind).
Some reviewers didn't like the color; it's not silver, more of a grey-olivey color, but it doesn't look bad by any means. I like it very much and would recommend it to others.
Plus you can't beat the price.
However, if you're using it for something light it's great. Set on a normal desk, its height would be a bit cumbersome to type on, unless you hooked up an external keyboard.Be clear, this *will not* support much weight.
I was worried about generated heat and this metal stand makes a great heat sink. I got this as a stand for my PS2 Slim.
This is the cheapest monitor stand of reasonable quality I have found. It would also make a very nice stand with passive cooling for your laptop, if you were typing on a coffee table that's lower than the couch you're sitting on. It's even got holes in it that add even more ventilation.
I now have room to store my controllers under the system so as a space saver alone it was worth the nominal price. The whole missing front support is a design is flaw in my opinion.
The color isn't as nice looking as the picture would lead you to believe, but I really don't care.
